Can I order with no Korean phone number at all?

Yes. Baemin guest checkout and Shuttle take orders without a Korean number. If an app asks for a number for the rider’s calls, a hotel number or a friend’s number works; SMS verification is only needed for accounts.

Why does my foreign card keep failing?

The app decides, not your bank: Coupang Eats on Android and some Korean-only checkouts decline foreign cards, while Baemin guest checkout and Shuttle accept them. Keep one backup app ready.

What if the delivery driver calls?

Most guests write in the delivery note “문 앞에 놓아주세요” (please leave it at the door) and use the app chat. If a call comes, the front desk or the app’s translation chat can help.

Food delivery without a Korean number

You do not need a Korean phone number or an ARC to order delivery in Korea. Baemin takes guest orders with a foreign card, Coupang Eats accepts foreign cards on iPhone, and Shuttle Delivery is English-first. If an app still rejects you, the hotel front desk can order with the Korean line below.

Before you choose

Baemin: open the app and dismiss the login popup to order as a guest. Enter an address, pick a restaurant and pay with a foreign card (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, UnionPay). Guest ordering opened in May 2024, and English, Chinese and Japanese screens were added in February 2026.
Coupang Eats: English interface; foreign cards are reported to work on iPhone while the Android app rejects some of them. If checkout fails, switch apps instead of retrying the same card.
Backups: Shuttle Delivery (English-first; Seoul, Pyeongtaek, Daegu, Busan; roughly 10% higher prices) or the front desk. To ask in Korean, show: “죄송하지만 배달 주문을 도와주실 수 있을까요? 카드로 결제하겠습니다.” (Could you help me place a delivery order? I will pay by card.)
